Professional Biography
Prof. Dr. Zaheer Akhtar is an internationally trained senior medical specialist with over 30 years of clinical and academic experience. Holding postgraduate fellowships including FCPS from the College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan and FCCP (USA) from the American College of Chest Physicians, he is widely regarded as one of Lahore's leading pulmonologists.
In addition to respiratory medicine, Dr. Zaheer is an International Certified Diabetologist and Obesity Specialist. He provides holistic patient care addressing the intersection between chronic respiratory conditions (like Asthma, COPD, and Sleep Apnea) and metabolic disorders (such as Type 2 Diabetes, Fatty Liver, and Clinical Obesity).
He currently serves as Professor at Gulab Devi Postgraduate Medical Institute, where he leads medical training and clinical research while maintaining daily practice at Gulab Devi Chest Hospital (Lahore) and Wali Hospital (Kasur).
